Question:

I have a base model GMC 2016 Sierra i want to put tow mirrors that have heat and turn signals how do I get them to work do I have to take it back to dealer to get them to wire them up to work ?

All of the replacement towing mirrors we have are designed to retain the factory mirror features. They will not allow you to add features to your factory mirrors that are not already equipped with the ability to do so. For example, if you have none heated mirrors then you will not be able to replace them with a set of heated mirrors. The wires needed for these functions to work will not be present.

Therefore, if you have the power/heated side mirrors on your 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 then the K-Source Custom Extendable Towing Mirrors part # KS62135-36G would work for you but if you do not have any of these features then you would want to use part # KS62137-38G.

As long as you do not have the Duramax diesel engine in your Sierra then both of the above options will work for you assuming you have the pre-existing functions. If you do have the Duramax engine then we do not have a set of full replacement towing mirrors for you at this time. The diesel models have a temperature sensor gauge in the passenger side mirror that will cause a check engine light (CEL) to appear if removed.
