Question:
I have searched the websites and I am unable to find a video or diagram that shows. 2014 GMC Terrain SLT how to install the wire for the already set wiring harness in this vehicle. Let me explain a little more. In the inside trunk space next to the spare tire, there is a female plug that is not connected for anything. I expect it to be the connection for a wiring harness for a trailer hook up for left and right turn signals, braking etc. I am hoping this is the truth because I have put out about $150 for a trailer hitch and wire harness based on my belief because I am unable to find a video for the install. What my major concern is how do you get the wire from the inside of the car to the outside, the trailer. please help

If your 2014 GMC Terrain SLT has the factory tow package and you have found the connector that a wiring harness like the Curt # C56210 plugs into, then you have a few options on how to route it outside to power your trailer lights.
The easiest way is to simply keep it stored inside under the removeable floor and then it out the back hatch to your trailer when you need to use it. As long as you keep it to the left or right of the middle latch (see attached picture) then the door will not damage the wires.
If you would rather have it permanently installed next to your hitch receiver then there should be a grommet in the rear floor area of your Terrain that you can cut and slide the connector through. Once you have installed it with a Mounting Bracket # 18144 and No-Drill Mounting Bracket # 18140, you can then make sure the grommet is installed correctly and seal it with part # LT37467.
I have attached an installation video where both processes are demonstrated on a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox that you can use as a reference.
