The Curt Class II 1-1/4 Inch Hitch, part # C12272 will fit your 2006 Chevrolet Malibu. When installing this hitch on your Malibu, you will need to do some drilling, but you will not need to cut the fascia or rear bumber. The exhaust must be temporarily lowered during installation.
I am including a link to the installation instructions on the Curt Hitch # C12272.
If you will be towing with this hitch you will also need the following items.
Curt Drawbar # C45521, pin and clip # F-4, Tow Ready 2 Inch Hitch Ball, part # 19258, or Tow Ready 1-7/8 Inch Hitch Ball, part # 19256
Draw-Tite Wiring Harness, part # 18252
