Question:
Hello, I currently have Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric 7k Trailer Brakes on my trailer and I am in need of some new brake shoes. I would like a longer life pad if at all possible, so what would you recommend?

Expert Reply:
The Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Trailer Brakes # 23-464-465 for 7,000 lb axles are very high quality and other brake shoes wouldn't be an upgrade. What will affect the life of the pad is how often the brakes are used, if they are frequently halting heavy loads and if the ride is on rough terrain. Any one of these things or combination will mean the brake pads are going to have a shorter life span.
I highly recommend sticking with the Dexter brake shoes; the correct replacements for you brakes are Replacement Shoe and Lining for 7K Nev-R-Adjust, # K71-675 for the left side and # K71-676 for the right side.
