Replacements for 7.00-15 Trailer TiresReplacements for 7.00 x 15LT Trailer Tires

Question:

I have a 1972 travel trailer that has 7.00 x15LT tires on it. The trailer weighs around 2500 pounds. I am looking for new tires or possibly new wheels and tires. Can you please give me some recommendations to what will work best. Thank you for your time...

The only direct replacement tire that is size 7.00-15 is Kenda Light Truck Tire # AM10414, which fits wheels that are 5", 5-1/2" or 6". You might be able to use 225/75-15 tires, which fit on 6" to 7" wheels, such as the Kenda # AM10251 or Contender # C22515D, though they are going to be around an inch wider and slightly shorter than your current tires, so you would need to measure to make sure you have the proper clearance.

If you want to go with new wheels, you would need to know the bolt pattern of your current wheels to get the correct replacements. I've added a link to a help article on determining bolt pattern for you to take a look at, as well as a link to our page with all of out tire and wheel combinations.

As a matter of fact, we do have those wheels. 7.00-15 tires like yours work on rims that are 5, 5-1/2 or 6 inches. 225/75-25 tires work with rims that are 6, 6-1/2 or 7 inches. So, for example, you could use wheel # AM20501, which is a 15" x 6" wheel, and tire # AM10251, which fits 15" x 6" wheels.
