Trying to avoid buying cross bars since the factory side rails are in place Is there a roof basket that can instal directly on 2016 RAV4 side rails

We do have an available selection of roof cargo baskets that are designed to mount to just the factory side rails on your 2016 Toyota RAV4.
I recommend the Surco Safari Rack 5.0 Rooftop Cargo Basket # SPS4560-1101. This basket does not need crossbars and will clamp around the factory raised side bars with the included adapters. The basket measures 60 inches long, 45 inches wide and 5 inches deep. I have attached a video demonstration on this product so you can see exactly how it works.
I just recommend adding some tie down straps like # RRRTD55P or a cargo net like # CS54FR to secure your cargo to the basket.
