Expert Reply:

If the 845 pounds of tongue weight is with the trailer loaded then you'll need a system to cover that plus the weight of everything stored behind the rear axle of the Tahoe. If it's not then you'll need to load the trailer and find out what its loaded tongue weight is. You want the combined weight of the trailer's tongue weight added to the weight behind the Tahoe's rear axle to fall within the range of a weight distribution system.

The Reese Steadi-Flex # RP66559 is rated from 500 to 1,000 pounds and is a good option as long as you don't go over. If you need to go higher there's a 1,200 pound system as well, # RP66560.

The Steadi-Flex uses automotive-like friction pads (Like brake pads) or sway control which makes it smoother and quieter than most systems. I have first hand experience with a Steadi-Flex (See the video of the silver Chevy) and it definitely does its job.

You'll also need a hitch ball. Use # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch or # A-90 for a 2 inch.
