Can the Roadmaster # RM-645 Safety Cables Be Installed with the Hooks on the Base Plate Side

I have a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid with Roadmaster hitch base and Blackhawk All-Terrain tow bar on my motorhome. I want to use the Snap Hooks ends to quickly hook and unhook safety cables from the car. Thread them thru the Tow Bars. Then use the Quick Links to attach cables to motorhome hitch. Then after unhooking from car just leave them on the motorhome. This is opposite to your pictures. Is that a problem? Is 64inch safety cables going to be long enough without buying the extension cables? I dont really want to spend a lot of time unscrewing the quick links from the car base hitch as one of your pictures shows a quick link connecting the safety cable and the extension cable together, then the extension cable runs over to car base and attaches to a second quick link on the car base hitch. These quick links are great, but when you have bad knees like me, it is difficult to bend over that long screwing and unscrewing these quick links just to take the hitch brackets off the car. Thanks!

If you have the room on your base plates connection to securely attach the hook, then there will be no issue with using the Roadmaster # RM-645 Safety Hooks.
I found another option for you. The Roadmaster 64 Inch Double Hook Safety Cables, # RM-646, is the better option for you.
Theses cables have the same features as the # RM-645 cables that you referenced, but this set includes hooks with spring loaded latches on both ends of the safety cable. These cable will make connecting and disconnecting a lot easier on your knees.
