The Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # HM56208 that you referenced will fit a 2017 Jeep Cherokee, but is not compatible with your 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

A similar wiring kit that is confirmed to fit your Grand Cherokee is the Tow Ready # TR118821. This will operate in much the same way as the Hopkins # HM56208.

To complete your flat towing setup you will also need a base plate kit, a tow bar, safety cables, a supplemental braking system, and most likely a high-low adapter.

I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1128 which has removable arms so that your Grand Cherokee has a more OEM look when not towing.

The Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar # BX7420 is confirmed to work with the Blue Ox base plate kit and it comes with safety cables.

Since most states now require a supplemental braking system to be used while flat towing I recommend going with the Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400.
