Question:
Is the actual 7 pin connector for Part 11141144 the same as the one in HM40975-1198? They look the same and I dont need the bracket or a long pigtail to splice into the existing wire. The bracket is welded into the bumper on our 2012 F150 with factory towing package.

Trailer connector # HM11141144 is specific to certain GM applications so it would not be the same as the standard 4- and 7-Way.
So you could use # HM40975 though it comes with a bracket. It does not come with a wiring harness.

I contacted Hopkins directly and they said this (Part 11141144) is indeed COMPATIBLE with Ford. It's obvious enough just looking at it, the 7 pin and 4 pin interfaces are universal. My Ford F150 has a built-in bracket in the factory hitch that fits this, and I'm buying 11141144 because I want the wiring harness/pigtail with it. The product description should be updated.
