1998 Chevy 1500 extd cab 6'6" box Husky 5th wheel hitch Base rails DH 9380 Measurement from end of bed to rear of rear rail? Which holes to use in front and rear rails?

The Husky 5th wheel installation kit that fits your 1998 Chevy 1500 short bed is # HT31402-686 and for this kit you would measure from the rear edge of the bed (not the tailgate) forward 24-3/8 inches and that is where the back edge of the rear rail should be.
The rear rail will use the outer most holes on the top of the rail. The front rails will use the inner most holes on the top of the rail.
