Custom Lawn Roller Compatibility Using Boat Rollers To Be Used Behind Mower

Question:

I am going to use your roller in an off label application. I plan to use several of these for the purpose of a lawn roller behind my mower deck. My question is do you have a product that would be more ideally suited for this application or a sleeve that could be used to combine several of these? Or should I do as Donald did in a posted picture and put 1 1/8inch bearings in them. then simply place on a rod? Thanks for any support that you may be able to offer.

To use the Yates Ribbed Wobble Roller - Heavy-Duty Rubber - 5" Diameter - 1-1/8" Shaft # YR530R-9P for your application, you may want to add the 1-1/8 inch bearings you mentioned and put them on a rod. I've attached a photo of that bearing in the roller wheel.

The only other thing I can think of is using a few of the Boat Trailer Standard Roller Bunk - 4' Long- 10 Sets of 2 Rollers - by Dutton-Lainson # DL21754 to create a 4 foot long roller deck you could add weight to the top of. Obviously that will require quite a bit of customization as this is not the intended use. This type of application will take you out of the manufacturer warranty on any of these items.
