Question:

I just purchased a yamika 78 rack and roll for my 2017 Subaru outback. What size ball will I need and what ball mount will I need to purchase from you? Thanks for your time.

The Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08107 referenced in your question requires a 2 inch hitch ball, such as the Curt # A-90.

For optimum performance, Yakima states that the hitch ball should be installed 22 inches above the ground. You will want to choose the ball mount that will give you the proper rise or drop from your trailer hitch to reach this measurement.

I recommend looking at the B&W Tow and Stow 2-Ball Mount # BWTS10037B. This ball mount will include the needed 2 inch hitch ball as well as a 2-5/16 inch ball. The adjustable mount has a maximum drop of 5 inches and a maximum rise of 5-1/2 inches.
