Question:

Does it lock closed when mounted on wall in the clean position? Can it float with out legs when open and sitting on it?

Expert Reply:

The Thomas Payne RV Jackknife Sofa - 62" Long - Melody Walnut # 195-000008 will stay in position when in sofa position or in bed position. There are not locks, but the attached hardware will only allow it to move when strategically moving it.

It is not intended to be mounted to a wall and will not support weight when mounted in that way. It requires a foundation like the Universal Leg Kit for Thomas Payne RV Jackknife Sofas # 195-000017. I've attached a video to help.

Will it clear a slide 33 inches from back wall after installed

A 62" wide jackknife sofa like the Poised Dark Chocolate # 195-000011 (the Melody Walnut is no longer available) is 28" deep. It does require 1-1/2" of clearance between the wall and top of sofa, putting its total required space/depth at 29-1/2". With this in mind it will fit your 33" wide slide without a problem.
