Recommended Roof Rack for 2009 Lexus GS 350 to Carry One Kayak

Question:

I am looking for a roof rack for my 2009 Lexus GS350 that is capable of carrying a Kayak. I see there are a few options available from Rhino Rack but wanted to see if there were any specific recommendations. I do have a 1.25inch hitch on the car and was curious if etrailer sells a hitch mounted load extended that I can use? Thanks in advance for any guidance you can lend!!

The roof rack I suggest for your 2009 Lexus GS 350 is the Rhino-Rack Vortex. You'll need:

46 inch Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA118B-2 (black) or # RRVA118S-2 (silver)
2500 Series Legs # RRRLKVA
Fit Kit # DK204

These are great aerodynamic bars that include plastic lock cores. You can upgrade to metal locks if you'd like, # RRVA-LEC4.

We don't have any load extenders that will fit a 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver but to carry the kayak I suggest the Rhino-Rack Nautic # RR571. These saddles will fit onto the Vortex bars and hold the kayak. Bow and stern tie-downs are included.

To make it easier to anchor the tie-down straps you might like # RRRBAS.
