The C11138 receiver... I imagine this works for a 2017 Chevy SS also?

The Curt Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11138 mentioned in your question is a confirmed fit for the 2017 Chevrolet SS. This Class I, 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver has a tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds and gross trailer weight capacity of 2,000 pounds. No drilling will be required for installation but keep in mind that the exhaust will need to be temporarily lowered.
