Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2012 Toyota RAV4

Question:
Hello! I have a 2012 Toyota RAV4 4WD with a 4 cyl engine and 4spd auto rated at 1500 lbs towing capacity. I will soon be towing a small camper 800 lbs +/- and Im looking at a transmission cooler. A mechanic friend will be doing this install so thats not an issue for me but Im trying to find the best cooler for my vehicle. Currently Im considering the Derale D12906. Do you have any other suggestions or do you feel that the D12906 will work for my vehicle? I tried looking through the grill of my vehicle and it looks like theres a decent amount of room for a cooler but I dont want anything too big in case Im wrong. I currently live in Michigan which is pretty flat but may tow the camper out west or to the Appalachian Mtns someday. Does your data base show any other connections/hoses that I might need with the D12906? Thank you for your time and answer.

For your 2012 Toyota RAV4 the Derale cooler part # D12906 would be a great option. We normally recommend going with the largest cooler that will fit in front of the radiator. In the case of this cooler it measures 13" Wide x 7-1/2" tall x 3/4" so you would need to measure the available room you have.
A more efficient cooler that's a bit smaller is the part # D13503 which measures 11" Wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep.
