Question:
My 2016 F250 does not have the factory installed hitch prep package. Id like to be able to easily remove the hitch to get back to a flat bed. I like the Ford Puck System and the Companion combo, but I dont know if I can get that without the factory installed hitch prep package. Can the Ford hitch prep package be installed by my dealer? Suggestions?

For your 2016 Ford F-250, to get the factory style system I recommend the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitches # RP30126. This is a custom fit for your truck. You partner that with the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Slider # BWRVK3370 which is designed for that factory system. You will want a sliding hitch with your 6-3/4 foot bed to ensure you will have enough clearance for tight turns to avoid hitting your cab. This is the most streamlined system because it is designed to work seamlessly. Reese designed the Ford OEM system.
You can use other hitches if you use the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter for Standard 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 20,000 lbs, # RP30156.
You may also be interested in the wiring harness that puts a 7-way in the bed of your truck for easy connection. For that I recommend the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring Harness 7-Pole, # C56000.
