RE Replacement Long Mounting Bracket for Thule Spare Me Bike Carrier. 752-1425-002. Is the interior diameter, 1.25 in? That seems too large for the piece that goes into it. Thanks.

I pulled one of the Thule Replacement Long Mounting Bracket, part # 752-1425-002 from our warehouse and took a measurement for you.
The opening on the bracket as noted in the attached photo is 1-1/4 inches.
