what do you recommend to stop the noise on my wifes 2016 xc70 at speeds of 40 -70 mph? she can hear whistling. PS it is a stock rack from volvo

Roof rack fairings are designed to direct the air over the crossbars which allows wind noise you described to be greatly reduced.
Inno fairings are designed to fit most crossbar designs so that would be your best option. For a 40 inch fairing we have the part # INA261 and then for a 31 inch fairing we have the # INA260. What you need to do is measure the distance between the feet of the crossbars and go with the fairing that best matches that dimension.
