I have a trailer with a 3inch coupler and want to make it the standard size. How is this possable??

You would need to replace the gooseneck coupler with one that has a 2-5/16 inch ball size. For that the B and W Gooseneck part # BWGNC4251 is a very popular option that would work well. It has an adjustable height tube and comes with a integrated coupler lock.
