Wiring Pigtail and Location for a Brake Controller on a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 with Tow Package

Question:
I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500/V8. I just purchased a Winnebago camping trailer, dual axle, 7000lbs. The truck is factory pre-wited with the tow package. Under the dash I see the blue/grn connector for the brake controller however it is not an inline connector like I see on the P2 but a rectangular configuration. Do I need to order an adapter or another product?

If your 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 came with a factory installed 4- or 7-Way then the connector for a brake controller is located under the dash like you said. For the P2 # 90885 you would use # 3020-P to plug it into your truck. I have linked a video that shows an example installation using this harness. Use the video as a guide to locate and identify the proper connector under the dash of your truck.
