Expert Reply:
The Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Hitch # 75034 that you referenced will work for your 1986 Chevy C-10. The hitch is designed for the 6 foot shortbed C-10 with the the standard or step bumper and is the replacement for the HIdden Hitch Brand which is no longer available. The Draw-Tite hitch is a Class III hitch with 5,000 lbs towing capacity and 500 lbs tongue weight capacity. However, your vehicle's tow and tongue weight capacity might rate lower than this hitch's capacity. Make sure you know your tow vehicle's limitations. The hitch tube is the standard 2 x 2 inch design and will fit a majority of tow accessories on the market.
Because this is the only hitch that we carry for your vehicle and it fits a wide variety of years, how the hitch sits under your bumper may vary from vehicle to vehicle. Therefore, how hidden the hitch will be will vary from vehicle to vehicle.
This hitch requires an extra hardware kit # 75034H for installation on shortbed trucks.
I also recommend a ball mount # MT70067, ball # 63845 and wiring harness # HM41115 for your Chevy C-10 if you do not already have these items.
