Question:
Is there a 1-1/4 hitch mounted spare tire carrier available? If not, would the 2 one part number C31006 work using an adapter e.g., the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4 to 2 Trailer Hitch Receiver? Thanks!

Expert Reply:
We do not carry a trailer hitch mounted spare tire carrier for a 1-1/4 inch receiver, but, you could use a 2 inch, like # C31006, with a reducer like # 80303. I have included a video review of this adapter below. Please note that when using an adapter, the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch is reduced by 50 percent. If you are just using the spare tire carrier and a tire/wheel on it, you should not have to worry about that reduction.
