Recommended Minimum Distance Between Tandem Trailer Axle Tires

Question:
I have a 26 ft box on tandam trailer. I have my center bar at 60 / 40 but need to know what the proper distance is between the 2 tires

As a general rule of thumb the minimum safe distance between front and rear tires on the same side of a tandem axle trailer is 4 inches.
