Thule Bike Rack Cradles are Sliding While Driving
Published 08/10/2016 >
Question:
The cradles on my thule bike carrier are moving when I drive, sliding back. Are they just worn out or am I able to tighten them somehow? The rack is about 6 years old.

It sounds like the cradles have worn down enough to slide on the arms. What you can try is to spray some hair spray where you want the cradles to stay then slide them into place. The hairspray will initially act as a lubricant but once it dries it will become tacky and hold the cradles in place better.
If that doesn't work and you don't want to replace the cradles, see link, you can try to fatten up the arms by wrapping some electrical tape around the bars so they are thicker.
