Question:

I had the C56310 installed by a mechanic. I am not sure where to place the 4-flat when not in use. should I use some velcro tape and stick it up inside the bumper?

I can help you figure out a way to conveniently store your wiring harness # C56310 when not in use on your 2016 Mazda CX-5.

It sounds like your mechanic ran the 4-way out of the vehicle and its hanging just below the hitch. For this I recommend a no-drill mount bracket like # C57202 and 4-way mounting bracket # 18144. I have linked a video of our installer installing this bracket on a similar hitch if you skip to the 13:42 minute marker, he will show you how this can be installed on your CX-5.

If instead if your installed routed the wiring harness's 4-way to the trunk of your CX-5, I recommend you use a Velcro strap to wind up the harness and place it inside one of the panels so it can stay out of the way, keeping it free from accidental damage.
