Question:
I am wanting your recommendation on a hitch for my 2012 kia sportage, non sx model, I will be towing a 500lb trailer and a 1000lb golf cart, which receiver hitch would you recommend?

Since you are doing some light duty towing I recommend the Draw-Tite Class II trailer hitch # 36510 for your 2012 Kia Sportage non-SX model. This is the most cost effective hitch for your vehicle. It has a 1-1/4 inch receiver and is rated for 300 pounds tongue weight and 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight so it can handle your 1,500 pound load with no problem.
For a ball mount you can use # C45520. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # C40001 and for a 2 inch ball use # C40018.
And for trailer wiring use # 118526 to add a 4-Way flat connector to the rear of the vehicle. I have included links to videos showing example installations for the hitch and wiring for you to view.
