Question:
I have this hitch for my 2004 toyota celica. I just purchased a 1upsua 2 bike rack. the rack is 48 lbs. it needs a 2inch receiver. I bought a 1 1/4 adapter to 2 . I know that adding an adapter cuts the tongue weight in half making it 100 lbs. with my bike in the rack it is approx 78 lbs. is there anything I should do to help support the rack in the hitch?

Expert Reply:
You are within the reduced capacity of the hitch so that is good. Curt does require the use of a stabilization strap, # 18050, when using hitch # C11289 for anything other than a trailer. The strap will help reduce the stress on the hitch. I have linked a video showing how it works.
