Question:
How can I tell if my 2013 Jeep Wrangler has a factory tow package? It has a flat 4 wire connector, but I dont know if this aftermarket. I purchased the Jeep used.

The easiest way to determine if your 2013 Jeep Wrangler has the factory tow package is to have a dealer run the VIN. They should be able to tell you how the Jeep was equipped using the VIN. But if the Jeep came with a 4-Way and not a 7-Way then it is probably not the factory tow package which I do believe came with a 7-Way connector.
To add a 7-Way to models that did not come with a factory 7-Way you would use # ETBC7. Your 4-Way will plug into this adapter and provide both a 4- and 7-Way connector. Then the remaining wires will get hardwired to the vehicle and a brake controller to make them fully functional.
For a brake controller I recommend the P2 # 90885 because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable. I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation for you.
