Curt Class III Hitch Part # 13538 for 2008 Sante Fe
Updated 08/02/2010 | Published 08/01/2010 >
Question:
do you know if the hitch crossbar is hidden like the hidden hitch model? Do you know if the hitch will prevent the spare tire from being removed? Also, are the bolts tempered steel and at what rating? Ive heard of hitches coming with cheap bolts that have sheared off. Thanks.

When installed on a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe, the Curt Class III Hitch part # 13538 would look much the same as the Hidden Hitch model for that vehicle.
The center of the cross tube section would be mostly concealed by the rear fascia, with the receiver and the end portions of the cross tube that curve around the dual exhausts being visible.
The installation instructions do not mention the necessity of removing the spare tire, although removing it temporarily during installation can provide more working room.
The mounting bolts are Grade 5 bolts hardened steel. If properly tightened to the torque specifications provided by the hitch manufacturer, you should experience no problems with the hardware.
