Trailer Hitch and Accessory Fits for 2016 Lexus NX200t

Question:

I purchased a hidden hitch for my 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer sedan and Im getting a new vehicle. Is there any chance its universal enough to fit on a Lexus NX200t? If not, do you offer a trade in/ buy back program? Its not even 6 months old. Thank you

On occasion a hitch will fit more than one vehicle but usually this is not the case with vehicles that comes from two different manufacturers, in your case Mitsubishi and Lexus. I checked the hitch fits for the 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer and all are for light-duty Class I hitches. The 2015 and 2016 model years of the Lexus NX 200t take only Class II and Class III hitches, as shown on the linked page. Your old hitch will not fit the new vehicle.

For your NX200t I suggest you go for a 2-inch Class III hitch since this size offers you higher tongue weight (TW) capacity and better compatibility with hitch-mount accessory items like bike and cargo carriers. I recommend the Curt # C13337 since it offers the highest TW capacity of all options. This hitch bolts on using included hardware. I linked the install instructions which detail the tools required.
