All the hitches offered for your vehicle will interfere with the spare to a small degree, but the spare tire will still fit. I spoke with my contacts at Curt Manufacturing, as well as Cequent Performance Products, who manufacture Draw-Tite brand hitches. I was told that the Draw-Tite # 75471 and the Curt # 13538 are all compatible with 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe models equipped with the spare tire.
Although the hitch will prevent the spare from dropping straight down, the solution is very simple. In order to clear the hitch, the spare tire will need to be pushed toward the front of the vehicle as it's being raised or lowered.
