WE HAVE FACTORY INSTALLED 7WAY . WE NEED TO INSTALL BRAKE CONTROLLER . CANNOT FIND WHERE WIRE TERMINATES OR WHERE TO PLUG IN BRAKE OCNTROLLER . CAN YOU PLEASE HELP US? 2010 JEEP LIBERTY

The 2010 Liberty won't have a connector under the dash for a brake controller. With the factory 7-way, Jeep ran the brake controller output circuit from the 7-way connector and routed it under the vehicle into the passenger compartment. It terminates under the dash near the emergency brake pedal or behind the kick panel to the left of the emergency brake pedal. The wire is light blue or light green in color and could have a white tag on it that says, 'Brake Output'.

This wire connects to the blue wire exiting the brake controller. To complete the installation, you'll need the # 5506 brake controller installation kit. The black brake controller wire runs to the positive battery terminal, via the 30-amp breaker included in the install kit. The white wire grounds to the negative battery terminal. The red wire connects to the brake stop lamp switch located at the top of the brake pedal. The switch will have several wires exiting it, you're looking for the wire that only shows voltage when the brake pedal is pressed. This wire should be white with a green stripe, but I'd highly recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to confirm.
