Does the Hitch Pin Bolt of the Yakima Holdup Bike Rack Have to Be Used
Updated 09/17/2015 | Published 09/16/2015 >
Question:
How critical is it to install that right hand security pin? Please address when transporting all 4 bikes as well as only 2 without the plus 2 add on. Used on a 2013 GMC Acadia Denali with 700c hybred bikes.

It is very important that you install and tighten down the hitch pin bolt of the Yakima Holdup Bike Rack part # Y02443-2 whenever you use it in any configuration. Failure to use it could potentially cause you to lose the bike rack while traveling. Failure to tighten it could cause the bolt to work it's way out and then lose the rack as well.
I attached a review video for this rack for you to check out as well.
