Question:
are the screws on this product self tapping? I would like to attach them to the bottom side of the factory running boards on my 2006 Toyota Tundra.

The screws for the Erickson Hide-A-Hook # EM09094 are indeed self-tapping. But it wouldn't be a bad idea to drill some small pilot holes to make it easier to install them. I have included a link to a video review of the hooks for you.
