The Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit, item # 52276-1, is the correct fit for your 2008 Dodge Dakota.
You may need wiring to safely flat tow your Dakota. The Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, item # RM-154, would be a good choice and if you do not want to splice into the vehicles tail light wiring the RoadMaster Tail Light Wiring Kit with Bulbs, item # RM-155.
