Question:

Will this item fit a 2007 V-70R The chassis has subtle differences than the regular V-70 wagon I want to get this so I can purchsee a Thule 4 bike tilting bike rack. I would also want to be able to lock the rack as well as the bikes. What other pieces would I need to do that? Thanks!

Draw-Tite Class II hitch # 36297 is indeed a correct fit for your 2007 Volvo V-70. This and other hitch options for your V-70 wagon can be seen on the linked page. They all fit all models of the V-70. Since you intend to use a hitch-mount bike rack I suggest you instead choose the Curt hitch # C12318 since it has a higher tongue weight (TW) rating of 350-lbs versus the others' 300-lbs. You cannot have too much safety margin. You will need to use a support strap # 18050 to help stabilize the loaded bike rack if you choose the Curt hitch. Any of the hitch options will suffice.

The Thule Hitching Post # TH934XTR 4 Bike Rack is a great rack choice for use in your Class II hitch. You can use anti-rattle lock # THSTL2 to lock the carrier to your hitch and cable lock # e98891 to lock the bikes to your rack.
