For the 2012 Jeep Liberty, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch # 13245. This is a Class III rated trailer hitch with a 2 inch hitch receiver. This hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight of 5,000 pounds, but I recommend checking your vehicle's max towing capacity before choosing a trailer and cargo to tow. The Curt hitch has the same quality construction and capacity as the other choices, but with a more economically friendly price. I have attached an installation video of this hitch on a 2012 Liberty for you.

If you are planning on towing with your trailer hitch, I recommend using a ball mount like the Curt Ball Mount for 2 Inch Hitches # C45230. You will also need a hitch ball, a 2 inch ball, like # 40038, or a 1-7/8 inch ball, like 19260.
