Will Two Kayaks Fit Side By Side on Erickson Ladder Rack Installed on a 2015 GMC Sierra 2500

Question:

When this rack is installed on a 2015 GMC 2500HD double extended cab with 6.5foot bed, what is the width between the uprights streetside to curbside, not front to back? I have two kayaks that are 26inch wide and 12.5foot long. Will these kayaks both fit on the bar when laid side by side, hulls up? If not, what is the diameter of the bar? Do you know if the Yakima Hull Raiser Aero already own can accommodate this bar? The stern tie downs can probably connect to the truck at the hitch or maybe within the bed. Do you have suggestions for how to connect the bow tie down, because the front of the kayaks will likely not extend past the front of the cab. Perhaps a bow tie down is not needed for this set up. Thanks in advance for the info and advice.

When installed in your 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 the uprights on the Erickson ladder rack # EM07706 will be approximately 57 inches apart, about the same with as the inside width of the bed. When placed side by side the kayaks will be 52 inches wide so it shouldn't be a problem.
