Installation Instructions for Tow Ready # 119190KIT Trailer Wiring Hanress- 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan

Question:

Are there installation instructions that are specific for the 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan? I am confused about the actual parts that I need because the VW dealer states the cars are pre-wired and need a module. I did not buy the tow package from the dealer though. Does this kit include everything I need?

The Tekonsha # 119250KIT is not a vehicle specific item, so therefore there aren't any instructions that are specific to your vehicle. However, we do have an install video that will walk you through the install process on a different vehicle. The installation is shown on an Ayudi, but the procedure would be similar on your Tiguan. The kit does indeed include everything needed to complete the installation, including a circuit tester for probing the taillight wiring harness to determine which wire carries which circuit. You'll want to use the included tester instead of relying on the wire colors shown in the video. Wire colors can vary during the production run of a vehicle, so we recommend wiring by function, rather than by wire color.
