Will Using the Extension with a Curt Cargo Basket Increase its Weight Capacity

Question:
Do you know if that increases the weight limit/capacity? I have the curt basket and the weight limit is 150 lbs. wondering if with the extension that would increase it. Thanks!

Adding the extension # C18117 to your Curt cargo basket will not increase the weight capacity. It does not decrease it either. The weight capacity will stay the same.
Please be sure to consult the vehicle owner's manual and/or the vehicle manufacturer for the roof weight carrying capacity. There are several components that have weight capacities, the basket is one, the roof rack is another, and the vehicle roof is the third. You will need to go by whichever one has the lowest capacity.
