Transmission in the 2005 Chevy Avalanche for Picking Out Pan Cooler
Updated 06/25/2015 | Published 06/24/2015 >
Question:
does my truck come with the 4L60 or 4L80 trans. it is a 2 wheel drive with tow package already, just had to plug in pigtail for brakes on my travel trailer and it tows good. Just replaced the radiator with a 2 core aluminum because last time I towed I started to overheat. Now I think its time for the trans pan even though I have a large trans cooler added. Pan looks square but all listings say it has a 4L80 ?

The 4L80E transmission was used in the higher rated trucks and the 4L60E was used in the lighter duty trucks.
Since you have a 1500 model 2005 Chevy Avalanche you would have the 4L60E transmission. The # D14204 would be the correct pan cooler then.
