Question:
Hi I have a draw tite activator IV and when hooked up to the trailer it just displays a . What causes this and how can I fix it I need a response asap

According to the instructions, when you have a decimal or dot displayed, it signals that there is no trailer connected.
If the decimals appears when the trailer is connected that means that it is not sensing the trailer magnets. This is a disruption on the blue wire somewhere between the controller and the brake magnets. It could also mean a dirty or corroded trailer connector. 9 times out of 10 when this happens cleaning the 7-way connectors fixes this problem. Look for corrosion on the connector and sand it off with fine grit sand paper.
