Troubleshooting Reese Mopar Fifth Wheel Rail Adapter # RP30154 not Fitting in Pucks of Ram

Published 06/03/2015

Question:

I ordered and received my adapter for my 2015 Ram, and when mounting into the truck, I can not get the Tpins to line up with the factory installed pucks, one side. The opposite side driver side Tpins are off by approximately a 1/4inch from the pucks and the adapter will not lock into place. Secondly, on the side where the Tpins do fit into the pucks, there is no clearance between the bed and the adapter for the arm pins to fit through the pre-drilled holes, in order to secure the locking arms. Any help, guidance, video etc on making adjustments would be appreciated.

It sounds like you need to adjust the pins of your # RP30154 so that they will line up with the pucks of your 2015 Ram. You will need to adjust the tee pin bushings so that all of the pins will drop in.

This can be done by loosening/removing the four cotter pins in the anchor handles, then unthreading the tee pins from the anchor handles. Once the handles and tee pins are removed a closed ended wrench can be used to loosen the four 1” jam nuts (refer to fig 1). Do not completely unthread the jam nuts, then drop the kit into the mounting pucks. While the kit is in the correct position tighten down the 4 jam nuts so there is not vertical play in the anchor bushing and the fore-aft tube.
