If the arm on your tow bar is bent or corroded at all then that will cause it to bind up and it will be difficult to remove the inner arm. You could potentially use a lubricant but I would avoid spray lubricants because they can attract dirt and debris and gum up moving parts of the tow bar arm. Also make sure you are pressing down the button (as if extending the arm) when you go to remove the arm from the rest of the tow bar assembly.

If the button is hard to press or isn't pressing down far enough you may need to use a narrow tool like a small screw driver to try to press it down further. We do not have a video showing this procedure since no one has brought us a tow bar that needed this repair yet!
