why does curt recommend not to use the trunk battery? 2014 malibu 1lt

According to my contact at Curt the battery in the trunk of your 2014 Chevy Malibu is for running the hybrid portion of the vehicle and should not have any circuits attached to it, whereas the battery under the hood of vehicle is charged by the alternator which would work well.
