Question:
Ok Im wiring a breakaway system on my trailer and I keep getting the charging light coming on when I connect to the break wires on my trailer Im not hooked to the truck at this time what can I do to figure out why this is doing that

The Hopkins LED Breakaway Switch # HM20060 has a red LED light to indicate that the cable has been pulled.
My technical contact at Hopkins suggested that you may have the black and blue wires reversed; this would cause the light to stay on. Please refer to the linked installation video for illustration of how to wire this switch.
