Does a Snowboard have to be Centered on the Thule SnowPack Ski and Snowboard Carrier

Published 01/28/2015

Question:

Ive noticed some customers are able to fit their snowboards with the bindings inside of the two racks. My board does not fit this way, was wondering if i have to take the bindings off,or just favor it to the front or back more.

The crossbar spread (center to center distance between the bars) is going to be different on every vehicle. Those with a short bar spread will have the issue that you have. In those cases it is acceptable to have the board sticking out more towards the front or rear. Taking the bindings off is also an option.

I do recommend, if at all possible, to have the bindings facing down towards the roof to decrease wind noise and drag.
