Question:
My daughter has a 2013 Kia Optima with no roof rack so I am looking at roof racks for her to transport a 9 foot long by 22 inch wide surfboard. I am thinking a surfboard would work similar to a paddleboard it is just not quite as wide. Would this product work with any removable roof rack I would buy in your opinion? Any other details you could provide? I am looking a purchasing roof rack and SUPDawgI for her 21st birthday!

When it comes to a roof rack for your daughter's 2013 Kia Optima, we have several options available. I have attached a link which includes all of the roof racks for her Optima.
For a basic but quality option, I recommend taking a look at the Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack with Vortex Crossbars, # RRVA126B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK283. This system is lightweight yet durable and easy to install.
For an aerodynamic rack that provides a much quieter ride, take a look at our Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack which consists of # TH711420 or # TH711400 for the bars. Along with # TH480R and # THKIT1629.
Now for the surfboard carrier. The Thule SUPDawg, # Y04075, that you mentioned would be a great choice. This carrier is very versatile as it works with round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars so it will work with either of the roof racks that I suggested above. The SUPDawg has a carrying capacity of 2 boards and will accommodate boards up to 36" wide.
Last but not least, I hope your daughter has a wonderful 21st birthday!
